Pathways at a high level
Ahpra and the specialist Colleges (RACGP and ACRRM) manage the pathways. Some specialist international medical graduates may be eligible for an expedited pathway to specialist recognition. Others may complete a different form of specialist assessment. The right pathway is a determination for the Colleges and Ahpra, not for us.

A good opportunity is about more than the advertised percentage. Before accepting a role, it helps to understand how the practice actually operates and whether it suits your circumstances.
- Is the role appropriate for my registration pathway?
- Is the practice in an eligible DPA location if required?
- What billing model does the practice use?
- What percentage or remuneration structure is offered?
- Is there a minimum income guarantee, and how long does it last?
- Is there an established patient base?
- How quickly are new GPs likely to build a patient load?
- What nursing and administrative support is available?
- What are the expected working hours?
- Are weekends or after-hours work required?
- Will I require supervision?
- Is visa sponsorship available if needed?
- Is relocation support available?
- Are there contract restrictions or notice periods?
- What support is available during registration and onboarding?
